No wonder marriage now-a-days is a joke!

With a wedding like this one, no it should be a surprise how short-lived most marriages are in today’s society.

Really?

Taco Bell?

I think it’s a plan for disaster.

What do you think?

I agree. People don't take marriage serious enough. They hear "through thick and thin" but they don't listen.

Some people may be care free, but care free often means they don't believe in lifetime commitment.

I haven't told many people this but one of the best pieces of advice regarding marriage was from my grandfather, on his deathbed.

My wife asked him what kind of advice he could give us to make our marriage last as long as his. He responded simply, "There is no problem that does not have its resolution."

Simple but deep. I still think about that whenever we have little spiffs. Sometimes we forget to appreciate the simple things in life and the little things our loved ones do for us. Appreciation can take you far.

In other words, I agree. That seems like a plan for disaster.

haha very entertaining. I bet they do last! I'm not saying I would ever have a wedding like that or take one seriously but people, well women, get so worked up over the wedding that it causes more problems and people lose sight of what a wedding is really for and about. Maybe doing it their way keeps the focus on the fact that they are getting married because they love each other and want to spend the rest of their lives together since it was not a big expensive and fancy production.

HekticLyfe: Your grandfather gave some great advice that many people don't realize. I think this couple could learn from his words.

Andrea: Good point. But I think that a Taco Bell wedding is still kinda extreme, don't you think? I mean, they could have gotten married in the courthouse. Isn't that free? Idk. But having a wedding that isn't a big party keeps it special for the couple getting married. Maybe there's a happy medium somewhere.
