How Embarrassing!

So the lovely started a blog called Now on Video. It's a awesome blog where anyone can write their opinion on movies. Well, I thought Hey, that a cool idea. So I thought up a movie and wrote my first post. Except I'm stupid. and I didn't realized that the blog was only on movies that were only out on video not the ones that are still in theaters. Hence the name Now on Video... I didn't even realize this until I already posted and everything. Ugh!

Anyway, now that I'm thoroughly embarrassed, I decided not to let that post go to waste. Here you go.

-----------------------------------------

Slumdog Millionaire

Slumdog Millionaire is the story of Jamal Malik (Patel), an 18 year-old orphan from the slums of Mumbai, who is about to experience the biggest day of his life. With the whole nation watching, he is just one question away from winning a staggering 20 million rupees on India's "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" But when the show breaks for the night, police arrest him on suspicion of cheating; how could a street kid know so much?

Desperate to prove his innocence, Jamal tells the story of his life in the slum where he and his brother grew up, of their adventures together on the road, of vicious encounters with local gangs, and of Latika (Pinto), the girl he loved and lost. Each chapter of his story reveals the key to the answer to one of the game show's questions. Each chapter of Jamal's increasingly layered story reveals where he learned the answers to the show's seemingly impossible quizzes. But one question remains a mystery: what is this young man with no apparent desire for riches really doing on the game show?

When the new day dawns and Jamal returns to answer the final question, the Inspector and sixty million viewers are about to find out. (IMDb)

***

The things I liked most about this movie:

1.) I've never heard of any of these actors/actresses before so the story was easier to sink into without relating the actors/actresses to their other works.
2.) I like the idea of a nobody becoming a somebody. It makes me warm and fuzzy.
3.) I'm a sucker for a good love story. c:
4.) Even though it is rated R, none of the language or violence was unnecessary. There wasn't even graphic sex scene!

The things I didn't like:

1.) Nobody's ever heard of it!

I give this one a 4.5 out of 5. Great movie.

I Can't See!

Last week, while I was in down town Atlanta hanging out with my friends, we decided to go to a Premier Exhibit's Dialog in the Dark.

They're the same company who does Titanic and Bodies.

At first I didn't want to go because $25 is expensive for a spontaneous adventure for broke college students, but one of the employees (about our age) said he could get all 5 of us in for $50. Yup. It's only $10 per person. Of course, me being to only sensible one, I was completely against it. It was kinda shady, you know? I didn't want to be scammed and my money to be stolen.

Ugh! I hate peer pressure! Yeah, we ended up going.

Dialog in the Dark was a very cool experience. For one hour, we were lead around in complete darkness through different environments such as a park, a sidewalk, a boat, a grocery store, and a restaurant while trying to use our other four senses. The whole time, I was completely lost. The only thing I recognized was a kayak that was on the dock near the boat. I was also always the last person in the room. At one point our tour guide shouted into the room to see if anyone was still in there and scared me so badly that I screamed. Lame, I know.

One of the cool parts was at the end when we found out that our tour guide was blind! I kinda guessed it but finding out made the whole experience way cooler. He told us his inspiring story of how he became blind three years ago. While going to pick up his nephew in a shady park, he got shot by a stray bullet and awoke from the resulting coma three months later completely blind. He'd only been working at Dialog in the dark for three months, and he truly seemed like he enjoyed his job.

With exhibit locations all around the world, I highly suggest you visit one. It's a truly fascinating experience that I think every one will enjoy.

11 Days Since Last Post...

And I've finally get 30 minutes to myself before I have to go to work.

You know, I always perceived Christmas as a calming holiday with plenty of time to spend with family because of school and work holidays.

Not until this year did I realize how very stressful it can be. This is actually the first year that I can pretend to afford gifts for the people I love -- the key word being pretend. I don't think I can really afford all the gifts that I purchased with my lovely credit card; but hey, it's Christmas right. So I've been giving all my spare time to finding the right gift, calling to make sure nobody else has bought it, and buying it with my magical credit card.

Side Note: Have you seen the preview to the movie Confessions of a Shopaholic. I want to see this one just to make me feel better.

Anyway, the only gift I have left to buy is my boyfriend's. And he was so specific that I really don't have to be creative. Also, we both decided to give each other our gifts after the holiday when we get the next paychecks.

As the last minutes of my free time are slipping away, I ask you: How is your Christmas shopping going?

By Popular Demand

Ok so only one person wanted to see it.
Anyway, I recorded myself singing the song that won me my awesome trophy at the talent show last year.

Enjoy!

Not Quite That Famous... Yet.

Last year on New Years Eve, my church held it's first annual Destiny's Got Talent show. When it was first announced, I knew that I would sing Time to Say Goodbye sung by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman. I found this song during the previous summer and instantly loved it. It's in Italian.

Here is the link--> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sp0ccQVy1og

And I won first place!! (out of 18 people) It was so much fun. See my nice big trophy c:
And I love dressing up and singing, especially in a language I don't speak. hehe.

Any way, so this year I am entering in this talent show again. My goal is to give a better performance than I gave last year. Therefore, I need an awesome song. Here is where I have a problem. I have absolutely no idea what I should sing. I was thinking about singing something from Josh Groban. You know how much I love him. I was thinking Solo Por Ti which is in spanish (link)or The Prayer which is a duet (link).

But my brother says that I should sing some thing new, something fresh, but he has no suggestions.
My boyfriend thinks I should sing the song from the movie The American Tail: Fieval Goes West (link) but I can't help but think about the little squeaky mouse. I don't really want to sound like that.

Anyways, I was hoping you guys could help me with a song decision. :D

I really would like to sing in another language. Something pretty. Like Italian or Spanish. I could even do Russian.
I like the opera/pop. If that genre exists. lol. Vocally songs like movie themes or soundtracks.
I like Phantom of the Opera stuff as well. Or anything written by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

I need all the suggestions I can get.
Thanks

I'm Back!!!

Sorry everybody. These past two weeks have probably been the most stress filled ones out of the whole year.

  • My boyfriend (Everett)'s wallet was stolen in Best Buy. We had to get his debit card turned off but he had no identification so the teller had a difficult time doing that. Then we had to get him another license but that cost money that he didn't have because his wallet is gone. So I had to pay for it. Then we had to go back to the bank and get new accounts and new cards.

  • My mother and father are currently having a custody battle over my brother (14 years old). My brother Eric went to live with my dad about 7 months ago. And for some reason unknown to all but himself, my dad wants full custody of my brother and surprised my mom with papers. My mom retaliated by retrieving Eric from my dad's house which also doesn't make any sense and definitely doesn't help. Currently, Eric is living with my mom, sister, and I as it had been up until 7 months ago. This ridiculously pointless battle is still going on and is just racking up the lawyer bills. My solution is just let Eric pick where he want to live. I think he was fine with my dad and don't understand why my dad had to have full custody of Eric.

  • My sister Ashley (17 years old) is going through the stage where any little thing you ask as a favor is totally inconvenient to her. Example: Yesterday, I took her, Eric, and Everett to go see a movie. Because I work at the movies, I also had a little business that I had to take care of with one of my managers. It only took maybe 5 more minutes. Because I wasted those five whole minutes of her time, she was upset with me the rest of the day. Despite the fact that I took time out of my impossibly full day to take her to a movie.

  • Since I got into a small car accident last summer, my car insurance went up. Therefore, I have to work even more than I already am in order pay off the bills. Living pay check to pay check sucks. I worked every day I could, even Thanksgiving Day, and am going to have to work hard during the Christmas holiday as well.

  • I have one week of school left before final exams. There's one project due on Wednesday that I haven't even started. Another is due on Thursday that I haven't even thought about.

  • To top it off, my car is a mess with all the leaves that my feet collect and deposit on the floor. Tissues are strewn about as well because of the changing seasons. My bedroom is unspeakably messy. I can't stand the piles of clothing, books, and papers that litter my floor. I'm going to have to stay up later tonight just to get my self organized.

I'm off to go start these projects. My goal is to finish the 1st project by tomorrow, the second one by Wednesday, clean my room tonight, clean my car tomorrow morning, and sometime before the end of this year make some time for me.

Please tell me something happy... something better/worse than what I'm going through... anything.

Twilight (the movie!)

Last night, Twilight premiered.

Since I work at the theater, some of my co-workers were able to tell me some interesting things about this premiere night.

Some die hard fans were waiting at the theater so early that one of the managers had to turn them away. The earliest that they let customers in was 6 pm. That's six hours before the movie starts. And I used to think I was pretty emphatic about this series, but apparently there are some who are crazy. hehe.

Any way, I arrive about an hour before the movie started and waited at the end of a line with every single other person who bought tickets. I thought that an hour before showtime was a good time... I was wrong. For a auditorium that seats approximately 480 people, about 400 of those people were waiting in line. And I was at the end.

Now on my review:

I really underestimated how awesomely amazing this movie would be.

Bella, I thought, could have been a little clumsier. Other than that, her character was perfect. She was protective of her mom and dad. And she was good at trying not to be in the spotlight. Her interactions with Edward were superb.

Edward was amazing. It was funny when he first was showed in the movie, every girl in the auditorium screamed. He looked perfectly dangerous and perfectly handsome.

The Cullens were perfect. Rosalie's character was most on point with what Stephanie Meyer was thinking. I can totally think of her going through the rest of the series. Carlisle, Emmit, Alice, and Esme was very awesome cast. Jasper's character seemed a little underdeveloped to me.

Bella's school mates: Jessica and Angela were amazing, just like the book. The guys, Eric and Mike, were in character.

Jacob was the movie star most in character. He looked the part. I could even see how he eventually change... I don't want to be more specific and spoil it though. ;)

Chief Swan was supprisingly more talkative and better than in the movie.
Renee was the same as Charlie but funnier.

James, Victoria, and Laurent were exactly how I imagined them. Especially James. And Victoria. And I liked how the movie ended with promise of the more.

Overall, the movie closely followed the plot. When it didn't follow the book, the script was recreated in such a way that it was still understandable. Stephanie Meyer put herself in the movie, which is something I would totally do if any of my books make it to the big screen.

I really really like this move. Even if you never read the books, I highly suggest that you see this movie.

Girl Crush

I was surfing through youtube the other day and I came across this girl with most amazing voice ever. I'm pretty sure I'm in love with her. hehe

Her name is Alyssa Bernal and I think she's from Texas. I'm not sure.

Here is a link to her video. In this one, she is singing I'm Yours by Jason Mraz. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNmU9Lh69Wk

Her voice is gorgeous! What do you think?

You Wimpy Baby!!!

I have a confession to make... I'm a wimp. Today the high for Atlanta, Georgia (which is where I live) was about 47°F and low is going to be 29°F. Right now, it's 40°F but "feels like" 33°F (it really feels colder). And this is how I dressed for school:

I was freezing!!

Side note: I totally bought that hat at Walmart for $6 after I had walked from my house to my car and realized how cold it was. And see how cute it looks *cough* Adiam*cough* ;)

Anyway, I don't know what I'm going to do for the rest of the winter season. I'm to wimpy to brave the cold. Maybe I will stay in my house for ever... Or maybe... I will move back to Miami! Yeah, that's what I'll do. In the mean time, don't expect to see me outside unless it's completely necessary.
I don't know how you people any farther north endure.

The New James Bond Movie

*This post may contain spoilers. Read at your own risk.*

Just watched Quantum Solace, the new James Bond movie, and I have to say that it was a very well made movie. My favorite scene was in the beginning when Bond was fighting one of the henchmen in a room filled with scaffolding. Bond, as seen throughout the entire movie, very nearly missed getting killed by the henchman, and at the last second with his leg caught in some rope suspending him just inches from the ground, he grabbed his gun and shot the henchman just seconds before Bond, himself, would have been shot. The choreography of the scene was stunningly done and continued throughout the entire movie. Although the plot was interesting, it was incomplete and left open for the next installment in the James Bond Saga.

Before you go out and see this film, I would suggest watching the first Bond movie with Daniel Craig entitled Casino Royal. I did see it but hardly remembered what occurred in it and wished I had watched it recently.

I give this one a 4 1/2 stars out of 5. But I do have a confession. Because of my young age and the fact that I live under the proverbial rock, I've never seen any other of the James Bond movies besides the two mentioned. Of course this hindered my ability to correctly review the film.

If you have seen it, what do you think of the movie? And if you haven't, do you plan on seeing it?

Quick Funny

As you know, I work at the movie theater, and today was a particularly busy day. My manager comes into to the box office saying, "Ok guys, listen up." At first I think he's going to make an announcement about something trivial like kids 2 yrs old and under get in free or handicap people do not get free tickets. But instead, this is what he said, "I wish people wouldn't hold in their farts."

Every one froze.

What?!? Did he really just say that. Yes, he did.

He said, "Because then the fart just stays in there and it has no where to go so it travels up their spine and into there brain and then they start having shitty ideas and these ideas spew out their mouths and they stink."

I'm still not quite sure what specific event he was referring to but I do that that I laughed, and still am laughing, about this comment. It was so random. And so funny. Especially coming from slightly over weight a 40 something year old man who works in a middle school. Jeez.

I've Been Tagged!!

Hi guys!!
I miss you.
Anyway, after my long respite from blogging, I'm ready to start new again! I have loads of ideas and plan on posting every day!

So HektikLyfe tagged me in his blog The Silent Podium (check it out).

The tag rules are as follows:

1. Each player starts with eight random fact/habits about themselves.
2. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
3. At the end of your blog post, you need to tag eight people and list their names.
4. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’ve been tagged and to read your blog.

So here are 8 random things about me:

1. God is my Father, my Savior, my Healer, and my Protector.
2.I can't cook. I do have a good excuse though. My sister is an aspiring chef so I happen to eat very well. I just never learned how to cook.
3. I've been to London!! Actually, one of my life aspirations is to be able to travel alot. Someday...
4. I'm a sophomore in college studying to become a librarian or a teacher one day.
5. I like learning/trying new things.
6. I don't like chocolate. Some people see it as a crime, I see it as a personal preference.
7. My favorite foods come from opposite sides of the world: Chinese food and Mexican food.
8.I love to read a good romance novel... but not the ones with the gross sex scenes. I usually read Christain Fiction or Teeny-Bopper ones just for fun.

As I am knew to the blogging world, I don't know many bloggers but here are the ones I do know (besides HektikLyfe)

1. eizzy. k from My cipher keep rolling like a rolling stone & In the Middle
2. Sherra from Sherra Life Lesson
3. Miss Information from Miss Information
4. Ryan & Kristen from Hobo Teacher

That's all I have.
Until Next time, I'm just
Simply Andréa.

P.S. I just added the email subscription option on the left side of the blog. Add your email and you will get updates everytime I post!

Howdy to all!
I'm sorry about the delay in posting; but, sadly, I had, and still have, loads of school work to do and the work just keeps accumulating.

I worked all day Friday and Saturday at the movie theater which was awful because Madagascar 2 just came out and every kid within a 45 mile radius all decided to watch it this weekend. It didn't help that the movie was on the IMAX screen. *sigh*

Then, on Sunday, I helped my amazing step-Mom (I just call her Lola) put on a really cool birthday party for my now 4 year old half-sister Sasha. I promise to write more later but I'm extremely tired now and I still have a pile of work to do.

Moral of the Day Moral of Life: Don't procrastinate by doing more fun things like write on your blog or planning birthday parties instead of doing school work :)

How was your weekend?

iphone 3G

I only have one thing on my Christmas list:

iPhone 3G

OK, so my mom has a policy every year that she only gets my brother and sister and I one gift. I like this idea because we know that we are only getting one and the gift giving doesn't take away from the Christmas Season and what it's all about: Jesus' Birth.

Two weeks ago, my mom bought my sister a new phone because her previous one was starting to experience difficulties at the ripe age of two. Since my sister was getting a new phone, my mom also decided to get herself a new phone. While my mom was in her benevolent giving mood, I asked her to buy me a phone, all in jest. She took me seriously and said "maybe." You have to understand that to my mom, "maybe" is as good as "possibly" which is as good as "probably yes." My chances of getting a new phone were high. So I began thinking of what phone I would like to have.
Then I knew:

<------iPhone 3G

Of course I would pick the hottest phone on the market right now. What did she expect? "Oh mom, I only want this free-with-contract ugly flip phone that is clunky, barely has a signal any where, and has no internet." No. But now that I’ve picked out the phone that I want, my mom is trying to back out of it. I'm not going to let that happen.

So, I use my researching skills (I want to be a librarian), I looked up all that I could about this awesome phone and listed the parts that I liked here for my loving, wonderful, amazing, awesome mother to read at her leisure (but before Christmas).

10 Reasons why I should have an iPhone:

1. The 3G technology has fast access to the internet. I can check my email and even do a blog post all from this phone.

2. While you are on a call, you can access the internet. Let’s say someone is lost and they call you. You could get directions for them while you are talking to them.

3. It’s a iPod with a phone. Out of the lovingness of my heart, I gave my sister my iPod. Now I don’t have one. Instead of buying me an iPod and a different phone, you can just get me the iPhone and kill two birds with one stone.

4. The iPhone has video feature. I can watch TV shows, movies, or music videos on it.

5. It has a calendar with reminders so that I keep all my activities in order, especially since I will have two jobs next semester. The calendar also syncs with my computer for easier transferring.

6. The camera is the best photo-friendly camera on a phone and all my pictures can be synced to my computer.

7. This phone has a GPS system. I will have a hard time getting lost now :). If only it could remind me if I locked my keys in the car…

8. The text messaging is smart. It guesses which letter you want to text next and makes those letters bigger and easier to press.

9. This iPhone has sensors in it that detect light and adjust accordingly to save battery life. It also notices when you are on a call and turns the screen off for the same reason.

10. The price is reasonable for all the things that you are getting. An iPod + a phone + a GPS system + portable internet + a camera + a calendar= $199.

I didn’t put some other features on my list because then it would be too long and over powering but here is a quick list of some other cool things the iPhone has to offer: applications galore; latest technology; touch screen; headphones w/ microphone; audio conferencing; call holding; call merging; caller ID; visual voicemail; create your own ring tones; PDF, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint attachments to mail messages can be viewed on the phone; supports wireless earpieces; and automatic spell check.

I really really really want this phone!!!

All the possibilities...

Just think!

High School Musical 3

I'm really hesitant to blog about High School Musical 3 (HSM3), but I'm going put my embarrassment behind me and do it anyway.

The first High School Musical was cute. I only watched because someone was in the room or something... I don't remember. hehe
Anyway, for a movie that premiered on the TV, I think it did pretty well. I love musicals and this was a teeny-bopper cutsie movie. The cheesy dancing, the simple songs, the over-acting. I will admit it was way over the top but cute, in it's own way.

I watched the second one because of that distinct nature of us humans to want to watch sequels and whatnot. *ugh* It was not so great. I thought it was rushed and only put out there because the first one did so well.

Now, HSM3 was great. I've seen it three times now (only because I work at a movie theater... but that's another post for another day). I actually got caught dancing and singing at work when I thought no one was watching... how embarrassing! I couldn't even think of a good excuse fast enough as to why I was twirling around singing "All I Wanna Do, Is Be With You." (Here is a shady version to scene in the movie with the song---> Be with you.)
But luckily this particular manager likes me and probably thought that I already felt pretty ridiculous enough with out an admonishment.

In HSM3, the characters from the previous movies are in their the senior year and are making decisions that will affect the rest of their life. The main character Troy as to make the life changing decision about whether or not to pursue a career in basketball or the performing arts. He struggles with the choice as his father and best friend basketball and his girlfriend Gabriella wants him to follow his heart.

Side note: One weird thing I noticed about the movie was that everyone was drinking tea. It was a little over the top. I don't know what message Disney is trying to say. All people in the performing arts drink tea? The guy sitting behind me in the theater actually said, "what the heck is up with everyone drinking tea." Just thought that was funny.

Any way, the singing was better the the other two previous films and the dancing was OK. I like the fact that the movie was G-rated and still was enjoyable. I like the fact that it showed a glimpse of what important decisions you have to make about your life. My favorite scene was with "Rocket Man" and Sharpé. I won't spoil it but it was funny.

Overall, if you don't mind lots of singing and pointless dancing, see it. It was cute and fun for everyone.

New Blog Name

I've been thinking for a while about changing the name of my blog. A blog's name gives it an identity, differentiating it from all of the million and billion other blogs. Introducing:

Simply Andréa

Along with my new name, I, with the help of my amazing boyfriend Everett, created a new layout design. Now my blog has more of a direction, focus, and purpose.

What do you think?

Seduced by a vampire!?!

When I was in high school, my friend Hailey and I would trade books back and forth. We favored similar book types/styles, mostly those christian fiction romance novels with 1800s settings where the girl always ended up with the guy and with, most importantly, no smut. So when she recommended Twilight and told me that it was not like our usual books and it about a human falling in love with a vampire, I was a little wary to say the least.

A vampire book.
I don't know.
Drinking blood and killing people.
Totally not my style.

But because Hailey is my friend and because one bad book wouldn't hurt me, I read it.

Twilight-Graphics

And I was hooked.

Stephenie Meyer writes in such a way that the vampires seemed real and believable. After I finished the first book, I couldn't remember why I hadn't read it before. I went out and purchased my own copy and all the others that were out at the time (New Moon and Eclipse) and read them all with in a week. Stephenie Meyer pranced her way to the top of my favorite author list, breezing past J.K. Rowling, my former favorite author.

side note: I still love all the Harry Potter books and J.K. Rowling. And I will probably re-read them later in my life but Harry Potter just seems to be getting played out. Now that the book series is over and only 2 movies remain, it's time for a new obsession.

Introducing Stephenie Meyer!!!
I love her. (Have I mentioned that yet?)
To clarify: I love Stephenie Meyer's writing style. I also read her book The Host and love it as well. I will admit that it was weird, weirder than vampires. But I still liked it. And once again, Stephenie Meyer made a story of aliens invading earth and living in humans' bodies seem OK and normal. I only realized how weird the book actually was once I tried to explain the plot to my sister.
*sigh*
I love Stephenie Meyer.
Anyway, I asked my amazing boyfriend to pick me up Breaking Dawn, the most recent of Stephenie Meyer's books, at midnight August 2. He held it from me at his house (because I would have staid up all night reading it) and the next day (because I promise my friends that I would go to a water park with them).
Twilight-Graphics

The wait was worth it.
I thought that Breaking Dawn was the best of all the books in the series. So magnificent. And the plot twist was excellent. I don't want to spoil it and I know that at least two of my friends have yet to read any of the Twilight Books*cough*Jen*cough*Alyssa*cough*
Please excuse me.
I think I'm catching a cold from the season change.
Moving on ;)
Twilight: The Movie
When I saw the first trailer for the movie, I was so disappointed. I could have made a better movie and preview myself. *ugh*

side note #2: When I found out that the actor who played Cedric Diggery in the Harry Potter movies was going to play Edward, I was baffled. How can that simple looking little boy play someone as awesome and as perfect as Edward. Robert Pattinson, aka Cedric Diggory, better do a hella good job at this. Or he will have the wrath of thousands of Twilight fans after him, especially if he plans on playing Edward for the rest of the series. OK. I'm done ranting...

But then the next trailer came out and I thought that it was better than the last; and maybe, just maybe, this would be a passable movie.
I really became hopeful when the most recent trailer was released. This movie just might be good. My sister and I (yes, I got her hooked as well) are going to see the movie at midnight on November 20! Only three weeks away! And I promise I will write a review about it.

So basically: I love the books. I love love love Stephenie Meyer. And I'm seeing the movie at midnight on November 20.
I think I've been seduced by Stephenie Meyer and her vampires!

Headache

A month ago, as soon as the schedules went online, I made my plans for the next semester of college: what classes I was taking, what days the classes would be on, what teachers I wanted to have, etc. I even planned my boyfriend's schedule and coordinated all our classes so that we can still car pool and not be at school all day. I only have 10 classes left until I graduate with my associates' degree so also needed to keep everything organized. I met with my adviser last week to make sure everything was bueno. I gave a copy of my schedule to my mom in case she needed it. I over planned everything.
Yesterday was the day that would have been the earliest to register. But...

of course there is a but
there is always a but
*sigh*
moving on.
Unfortunately, I had a book out from the library that was requested from the inter loan library system. The book was not overdue or anything yet the college put a hold on my account hindering me from registering for my class. I thought Hey, I have the book in my car. And I'm done with it. So I can turn it in and have this hold removed.
Nothing is ever so simple, of course.
As I returned the book, a college student who was working the counter assured me that the hold would be removed from my account as soon as she put the book into the system. I waited an hour, checking every 2 minutes, to see whether the hold was taken off. It was still there.
I went to lunch.
When I came back, the hold was still there.
With the beginnings of a stress headache, I kindly asked a different library worker why this hold was still on my account. She didn't know. I was directed to another library worker who then told me that the guy who usually did these kinds of things would not be in until 8:30 the next morning. My stress headache building, I went home to my mom yelling at my 17 yr. old sister because she was out past her curfew and my kitty cat wanting more attention that I can give her. I went to bed, without checking my usual online things (sorry HektikLyfe, I didn't check my comments) and hoped that this monster headache would magically disappear over night.
No luck.
Waking up with a headache is not fun.
Trying to sign up for the classes that I picked a month ago and realizing that one of them is now full is not fun.
Showing up to my boyfriend's house and waiting for him to get ready because he overslept is not fun.
So I took some Tylenol, skipped class, and slept in the car. I still have a little headache, but overall I'm much better.

Today is a Josh Groban Day

Last December while flexing my new found independence, I went online to the iTunes store and purchased Awake by Josh Groban. I love it. February Song is the crowd pleaser and probably the most popular song on the CD. I had just gone through a break up with my boyfriend (we are happily together again, put the break up behind us, and have made plans for the future) when I first heard the song. This song is why I bought the CD; particularly, this line stuck out to me the most.

I promise you I, I'll come back to you one day

It was like a message that me and my boyfriend would some day live happily ever after.
I also like Solo Por Ti because my musically inclined ear loves the dynamics and the smoothness of the song even though I don't really know what the lyrics say. My all time favorite song is You Are Loved (Don't Give Up).

Don't give up
It's just the weight of the world
When your heart's heavy
I...I will lift it for you

I'm not sure who Josh Groban wrote this song for or what it's supposed to mean; but I'm sure he's OK with my own interpretations. Somewhere out there, someone loves me and never forget it. Don't give up. My Heavenly Father is looking out for me, and loves me. No matter what I do. No matter how many times I mess up. He's there taking care of me. These thoughts are comforting me and getting me through my ever stressful life.
Another song of his that has been creeping up my favorites list is Awake, the song the CD was entitled after. It's a love song about a couple whose tomorrow is not promise and all they have is today. Although I can not presently apply this song to my life, the emotion in Josh Groban's voice keeps me listening and intrigued.

We'll let tomorrow wait
You're here, right now, with me
All my fears just fall away
When you are all I see.

So today, all day long, is Josh Groban Day. I will be listening to the songs, letting them inspire me as I sing along.

What's your favorite encouraging song?

"Just Wing It"

Everyone has a blog. Everyone.
I, as the designated slow person, have just now caught on to the blogging hype.
Also, I'm bored and need a place to release my creative juice.
If i have any. I don't really know.
Moving on..

In my senior year in high school, my classmates (and I will take no credit for this one) came up with our motto for the year...ready for it?
"Just Wing It"
And I think that's my motto for this blog. I'm going to "wing" my way through. And hope you like it. I don't know what I'm going to write about and I don't have any direction for this blog.

Just going with the flow.

Until Next Time,
