Seduced by a vampire!?!

When I was in high school, my friend Hailey and I would trade books back and forth. We favored similar book types/styles, mostly those christian fiction romance novels with 1800s settings where the girl always ended up with the guy and with, most importantly, no smut. So when she recommended Twilight and told me that it was not like our usual books and it about a human falling in love with a vampire, I was a little wary to say the least.

A vampire book.
I don't know.
Drinking blood and killing people.
Totally not my style.

But because Hailey is my friend and because one bad book wouldn't hurt me, I read it.

And I was hooked.

Stephenie Meyer writes in such a way that the vampires seemed real and believable. After I finished the first book, I couldn't remember why I hadn't read it before. I went out and purchased my own copy and all the others that were out at the time (New Moon and Eclipse) and read them all with in a week. Stephenie Meyer pranced her way to the top of my favorite author list, breezing past J.K. Rowling, my former favorite author.

side note: I still love all the Harry Potter books and J.K. Rowling. And I will probably re-read them later in my life but Harry Potter just seems to be getting played out. Now that the book series is over and only 2 movies remain, it's time for a new obsession.

Introducing Stephenie Meyer!!!
I love her. (Have I mentioned that yet?)
To clarify: I love Stephenie Meyer's writing style. I also read her book The Host and love it as well. I will admit that it was weird, weirder than vampires. But I still liked it. And once again, Stephenie Meyer made a story of aliens invading earth and living in humans' bodies seem OK and normal. I only realized how weird the book actually was once I tried to explain the plot to my sister.
*sigh*
I love Stephenie Meyer.
Anyway, I asked my amazing boyfriend to pick me up Breaking Dawn, the most recent of Stephenie Meyer's books, at midnight August 2. He held it from me at his house (because I would have staid up all night reading it) and the next day (because I promise my friends that I would go to a water park with them).

The wait was worth it.
I thought that Breaking Dawn was the best of all the books in the series. So magnificent. And the plot twist was excellent. I don't want to spoil it and I know that at least two of my friends have yet to read any of the Twilight Books*cough*Jen*cough*Alyssa*cough*
Please excuse me.
I think I'm catching a cold from the season change.
Moving on ;)
Twilight: The Movie
When I saw the first trailer for the movie, I was so disappointed. I could have made a better movie and preview myself. *ugh*

side note #2: When I found out that the actor who played Cedric Diggery in the Harry Potter movies was going to play Edward, I was baffled. How can that simple looking little boy play someone as awesome and as perfect as Edward. Robert Pattinson, aka Cedric Diggory, better do a hella good job at this. Or he will have the wrath of thousands of Twilight fans after him, especially if he plans on playing Edward for the rest of the series. OK. I'm done ranting...

But then the next trailer came out and I thought that it was better than the last; and maybe, just maybe, this would be a passable movie.
I really became hopeful when the most recent trailer was released. This movie just might be good. My sister and I (yes, I got her hooked as well) are going to see the movie at midnight on November 20! Only three weeks away! And I promise I will write a review about it.

So basically: I love the books. I love love love Stephenie Meyer. And I'm seeing the movie at midnight on November 20.
I think I've been seduced by Stephenie Meyer and her vampires!

Correction. 3 movies. They are splitting Deathly Hallows into 2 films.

Oh and I can totally see them returning for a life through Voldemort's eyes series.

Oh and have you seen this trailer?

Let the right one in.

>HektikLyfe: I'm glad that WB is splitting Deathly Hallows into 2 films! Not only was the book long but the it was filled with vital plot scenes. I was disappointed when they pushed the Half-Blood Prince from November to July. *ugh* At least it's still going to be shown in IMAX and 3D.

JK Rowling said that she won't be writing any more Harry Potter books but maybe she will change her mind... I'm still hopeful. Or maybe WB or someone will make more movies anyway.

OK. That trailer was strange. and horrific. I'm not particularly fond of horror movies. I'm a real scaredy-cat. Unfortunately, my wild imagination doesn't let the movie only live on screen but takes it home with me in my dreams. I just avoid any type of scary/horror films. It's safer that way :)

Yeah I was really upset when they delayed Harry Potter. That first sneak teaser was freakin' great. This next movie was my favorite of all the books. I hope they do it right.

I wish Harry would go back to that long hair look from Goblet of Fire. It looked cooler.

JK Rowling doesn't have to write it. Other people have taken stories such as Star Wars and written alternate or sideline stories.

Scary movies, I don't like gore but I do like a good creep tale.

Yeah. I agree c:

I think it would be really awesome if someone had the guts to continue the Harry Potter Saga.
